Paddy Power Poker Irish Open Final Day

In a fantastic day of poker action, the number of players challenging for the Irish Open Main Event crown was reduced to 8 players on the final table, all of which returned today to chase the €600k top prize. All of the well known pros left in the tournament were eliminated during Day 3, leaving Kara Scott as the only recognisable face still in contention.

The final table chip counts:

  • Name - Chip Count
  • Andrew Pantling - 2,286,000
  • Lee Brooke-Pearce - 998,000
  • Antanas Gueorguiev - 990,000
  • Albert Iversen - 755,000
  • Kara Scott - 701,000
  • William Kassouf - 569,000
  • Andy Bradshaw - 351,000
  • Bradley Verburg - 217,000

Some of the eliminations yesterday:

  • Position - Name - Prize

  • 10th - Paul O’Connor - €24,400
  • 11th - Niall Smyth - €24,400
  • 12th - Karl Mahkle - €24,400

  • 14th - Evan Hunt - €17,900
  • 15th - Jani Vilmunen - €17,900
  • 16th - Marcel Koch - €17,900

The open also saw the exciting conclusion of the €100,000 Sole Survivor qualifier promotion, which was won by Marcel Koch, a 31 year old amateur with little live experience.

Two side events started during Day 3 of the tournament, the €300 Ladies Event NLH and the €1,500 Freezeout NLH, with 99 and 209 runners respectively returning today. The €1,500 Freezeout boasted an especially pro-heavy starting field and some of the 46 remaining players chasing the €98,000 first prize in this tournament include Jamie Gold, Neil Channing, Mark Goodwin and Dave Colclough.
